Tuesday
I got to volunteer in Jack's class today! Because of his good choices and good listening he was picked to be the flag leader. So cute. He led the class in saying the Pledge of Allegiance. I'm always touched by those words, but hearing them come from the voice of a preschooler (especially a room full of them) is so much more moving!

Before I left, I asked Jack to show me the smile he was going to use for his school pictures in a few minutes . . . this was his chosen smile. Goof ball! :o)

Gav and I took Riley out for some special Trio Time. :o) Just the 3 of us as Jack was staying later at school for his Soccer class. She picked where to eat (Hot Dog On a Stick) and where we went (Color Me Mine).

Always soooo incredibly hard to not get involved and just watch. Riley was very sweet as she let both Gav and myself do a little bit of her turtle. I helped with the heart, Dad . . . well, with the turtle. :o)
For the locals, the lady you want to help you . . . her name is Nicole and she was awesome! She voluntarily introduced all sorts of cool techniques to Riley. Above is Riley prepping for the bubble technique that she wanted to do under the shell of her turtle "box."

She showed Riley how to do this awesome shaving cream technique! She smoothed shaving cream out on the table and then swirled paint on top.

After that, the turtle shell/lid went right on top.

To the sink to rinse off the shaving cream (paint stays on, shaving cream washes away). By the way, Roo, you look too old here, too. Cut it out.

Little toothbrush action to put on some small specks . . .

. . . and voila! We pick up the turtle on Saturday. Too cool. Can't wait to see it. It's going to be hard not to have this in my room Muffin Pop!

Can't remember why the coach was telling them to cover their eyes, but who cares . . . how cute are those little pudgy hands/arms!

Coach Jay is explaining that in a second they're going to play a game where the kids will have to try and get the ball from him. (Notice Jack already inching in before Coach finished his sentence. Coach had Jack at the word "get.")
Did you know that in a pinch, a skateboard can double as a chalkboard?

Impossible Shot: 4 kids on 4 rocking chairs in narrow space. Sounds pretty cute, though, huh? It was. Lucas joined shortly after the shot was taken.

Through the porch slats . . . it worked!
