Gav worked a double today so I took Jack out for chocolate milk after dropping Riley off for school while waited till it was time for his school to start. I really enjoy getting to spend one on one time with him. His personality is so BIG and so much fun, I'm always guarenteed a laugh or two (or three).
I decided then to do the same with Roo when it was time to pick her up from school except I took her for lunch. It was my turn to spend one on one time with her till it was time to pick up Jack. I had spent the entire morning cleaning the house (from beds, to toilets, to laundry, to carpets, etc.) so I had worked up quite the appetite. I told Riley how hungry I was because of all that I did and my sweet little Roo's response was, "Mom, I would have helped you." Riley's heart is as big as Jack's personality and I thank God for it every day.
I've learned to always have a camera handy when entering Jack's classroom. His teacher is so much fun. Here he is doing his Thanksgiving Hand Turkey, but in the past when I didn't have my camera of course, she has had fun things out on the table like shaving cream to play with, etc.
While waiting for me to set up the paint for our pinata, the kids played school. They are having so much fun with the whiteboard I picked up from that store that closed at the mall last fall (thank you Allison!) Best $5 I ever spent!
Finally . . . painting the pumpkin pinata!
I didn't realize all the steps involved in making this thing, but we're having fun doing it so that is all that matters. (I'm crossing my fingers that it actually hangs tomorrow without falling apart. If it works, I think we've just started a new tradition.)
